Health care reform, from everyone I've talked to, seems to be the quiet anger of the times. It isn't receiving the sort of attention or coverage, nor is it sparking as much public outrage as all of the bailout business or the stimulus fighting - but in a lot of ways it's a much more personal issue for people.

Bailouts and stimuli are abstract concepts, but health insurance is a monthly expense that people can physically see on their pay stubs. Maybe folks are just worn the hell out, especially on this issue. But it's lurking.

I think half of the problem is that the terminology is very dense. Most people don't really know what single payer means, or what public option entails. And the opponents of this sort of reform (read: people who get money from the industry for their campaigns) are taking full advantage of that.

Hopefully they'll lose the argument. I'm not sure, yet, that enough people are paying close enough attention to catch on.
