Word on the grapevine is that ol' Joe's Boss was also unaware of any sort of buyout. Also, the pair are now facing investigation in regards to neither him nor his boss having a licence.

Joe has seemingly used his 1st amenment right to shoot himself in the foot.

Joe has also lived in both Alaska and Arizona. This alone is enough to drive the conspiracy theorists to climax.

I guess the lesson they drew from the Swift Boat campaign was: "why should we check the facts? The electorate never does."

But then, George W. Bush was popular.

While I missed McCain wandering about like lost Alzheimer's patient this time around, he still amused me by whining like a pissy baby.
I'm also glad to know the quintessential occupation of Americans is apparently plunging toilets. I must have missed the memo there.
McCain never fails to make an ass out of himself in public light, and the debate was no disappointment. He even went so far as to pronounce his bargaining chip's last name incorrectly - WurtzelBURGER.

Great post.

Not a licensed plumber, hasn't paid taxes in a couple of years, and may not even be registered to vote. You'd think McCain would have checked this stuff out. But then again, he didn't even get poor Joe's name right.

Oh, don't avoid Joe the Plumber--_embrace_ Joe the Plumber, as an opportunity to create a new bumpersticker:

"Joe the Plumber is a Semi-literate Moron"

(Just kidding Joe--although msn.com did mention that they found out that he's not really a licensed plumber. Suppose we'll find out that the McCain campaign planted him there?)

I watched the debate on PBS because they air it after the other networks and I forgot to set the DVR for the first go-around. Sadly, PBS doesn't show the debates split-screen so I, too, was surprised to see the look on McCain's face about the health care issue. In fact, I LOLed. That moment in American history is truly priceless.

I'd also like to say that I completely support PBS and all of their related stations, but I probably won't ever watch a debate on PBS again unless they switch to split-screen. Like you said, it's sometimes more informative to see their reactions than it is to hear their words.

Split screen is the ONLY way to watch these things. I usually prefer the C-SPAN coverage anyway, because there are no empty headed pundits trying to tell me what my lying eyes and ears just absorbed. But they were the first to really format all of the debates in split screen (to my recollection anyway). Watching the reactions of the person NOT talking can sometimes be more informative than listening to what is being said.

Enjoyed the flow chart. Like this new graphic. We should have a graphics-off.
I never had a split screen when I watching it so McCain's astonishment was news to me.
